§ 16-46. Same—Bond and fee in lieu of fee schedule.

In lieu of complying with section 16-45 herein a person, firm or corporation may, before engaging in work described herein,
file with the City of Athens a corporate surety bond in the penal sum of two hundred
dollars ($200.00) payable to the City of Athens conditioned on the faithful performance
of the rules and regulations of the ordinances of said city. Upon filing of the aforementioned
bond and obtaining a permit from the City of Athens, Texas, a firm, person or corporation
may make openings or excavations on any street in the City of Athens. The fee for
permits provided in this section shall be two dollars ($2.00) for each opening or
excavation.
