§ 7-41. Membership.

(a)

The reserve members of the City of Athens, Texas, fire department shall be persons who have volunteered to become a member of the fire department and whose applications for membership have been accepted and who have complied with the rules, regulations and orders provided for the conduct and control thereof. The number of reserve members shall be determined by the fire chief, but not over twenty-five (25), and shall be under the direct control and supervision of the fire chief or other duly appointed officers of the City of Athens, Texas, fire department.

(b)

The reserve members shall be furnished the following by the City of Athens, Texas:

(1)

Accidental health dismemberment, disability and death insurance.

(2)

Complete protective clothing and safety equipment.

(3)

An alerting system for receiving fire and other emergency alarms.

(4)

Liability insurance on the reserve fireman's vehicle used in response to and return from fires and other emergencies.

(5)

A means of identifying the reserve fireman's vehicle, but without a siren.
